San Francisco, CA - The Academy of Art University's softball team had two players named to the Pacific West Top 10 Honor Roll this past week. The announcement came on Tuesday morning from the PacWest conference office. The two players to receive the honor were junior Sierrah Garcia, and freshman Elyse Cordova. The pair was recognized for thier play during the week of March 21st - 27th.

Garcia, (Los Banos, CA) helped lead her team to a 3-2 week with her outstanding performances on the mound. She threw four complete games including two shut-outs in the week. Garcia struck out 39 batters in 29.1 innings pitched, allowing just six earned runs, and keeping her opponents to just a .162 batting average. Sierrah threw a no-hitter against BYU Hawaii on Mar.21 and struck out every batter at least once in the game. Her shut-outs came against BYU Hawii (2-0), and defending national champions Hawaii Pacific (8-0) on Mar.27.

Cordova, (Tulare, CA) played a big role in her team's success due to her hot bat last week. She batted .438 in six starts going 7-16. Cordova contributed four runs, two doubles, and two runs batted in. Elyse rounded things out with four steals, and posted a .563 rlugging rate, and a .412 on base mark.
