San Francisco, CA – The Academy of Art University's softball team had three players named to the Pacific West Conference Top 10 Honor Roll. The awards were announced on March 15th from the PacWest conference office. The three players to receive the honors were freshman Elyse Cordova, sophomore Jayme Stewart, and sophomore Andrea Hanchey. The women were named to the honor roll for their play during the week of March 7th.
Cordova, (Tulare, CA) had a great offensive week for the Knights. She started in all six games for her team while posting a .389 batting average going 7-18. Elyse also finished the week with one double, six runs scored, one run batted in, a sacrifice bunt, and two stolen bases.
Stewart, (Shingle Springs, CA) continued her hot streak in the six games for the Knights last week. She also hit .389 going 7-18. Jayme contributed one home run, one double, five runs, and recorded two stolen bases. Stewart also posted a .611 slugging percentage, and a .450 on base mark.
Hanchey, (Galt, CA) led her team to a 3-3 week. She finished the week batting .429 going 6-14 in her five starts. Andrea recorded one home run, four runs scored, and one run batted in. She also finished with a .643 slugging rate, and a .529 on base percentage.
