On the season, senior
Jessica Nolan led the Urban Knights in almost every contest. Whether it was scoring, putting her teammates in scoring position or snagging multiple rebounds, Nolan could be trusted by her coaches and teammates to give her all in every contest.
Jessica earned the only Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season. She adds to that, nine PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll selections. Over the course of her career as an Urban Knight, Nolan has acquired 16 Top 10 selections, and two Player of the Week honors, the second most of any Academy of Art athlete.
In the Urban Knights' 25 games this season, Nolan registered 12 double–doubles (the most of any player). She accumulated 12 10+ rebounding nights, which included grabbing a season high 16 rebounds against Willamette University on November 27. The senior also showed her remarkable capacity to score at will, as she scored in the double-digits 16 times over the course of the season. The Adelaide, Australia native registered a season high 22 points in ART U's historic first win over Notre Dame de Namur back on February 7.
Nolan came close to matching her season high on two separate occasions. She posted 21 points in the Urban Knights, 74-35, win over Chaminade, and 20 points in their win over BYU-Hawaii, both big wins in the Urban Knights four game win streak to close their season.
The senior finished her career seventh in the conference in scoring (12.4 ppg). She ranked third in shooting percentage. She was ART U's most efficient scorer, as shown by her 56.6% shooting percentage. Jessica closed the season fourth in rebounding (9.3 rpg). The senior was also atop the conference standings in assists and steals, she ranked 6th in conference in assists (3.2 pg, 81 total), and 11th in steals (1.8 pg, 44 total).
In her debut season as an Urban Knight,
Nicole DeRosier made her presence felt almost immediately. DeRosier led the Urban Knights in scoring in nine of their 25 contests. She tied the record for most three-pointers made in a game (6), previously held by
Caprice Hall (08-10), twice. The junior knocked down 6 three's in ART U's 66-56 win over Cal State East bay on December 12. She did it once more in the Urban Knights loss to USF on December 29. DeRosier had a breakout night in their win over BYU-Hawaii. The junior went for a career high 29 points in 39 minutes. She was 12-of-23 from the floor and 5-of-13 from three-point
territory.
DeRosier finished the season 6th in the conference in scoring (13.4 ppg). The Puyallup, WA native ranks first in 3pt percentage (39.7%), and second in three pointers made (3.0 pg, 97 total) in the conference.
Verity Peets earned an Honorable Mention nod on the 2011 All-PacWest Women's Basketball Team.
Peets was a player that could be relied on to play consistently every night. Peets helped lead the Urban Knights to their best season to date.
The Stockport, England native finished her senior campaign ranked 12th in scoring (11.7 ppg). She amassed 16 double-digit scoring nights, which included a season high 26-point performance in ART U's win over BYU-Hawaii on February 19.
