PacWest Release
Phoenix, AZ – This week's Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll featured junior forward
Keith Davis and freshman guard
Czar Robotham for their impressive performances in ART U's final two non-conference games. Led by a 24-point breakout game, Davis ranked fourth in the PacWest scoring for the week, while Robotham paced the conference in steals. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Jan. 3, for games contested on Dec. 27-Jan. 2.
In a close battle with Cal Maritime on Dec. 29 to kick off the Holy Names New Year's Classic, Davis was on top of his game. The Long Beach, CA native scored 24 points (9-of-23 from the field) and grabbed eight rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. He scored seven of the team's final nine points as Academy of Art tried to make one final push to end the game. Davis ended up one point shy of his career-high (25 points) that came at Cal State East Bay on Nov. 16 to start the season. The following evening against Holy Names, Davis went for 14 points (10 in the second half) and five rebounds in a balanced Urban Knight attack.
Davis completed the week averaging 19.0 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per contest, ranking fourth in the PacWest in each respective category. The junior forward is now averaging 15.5 points per game for the season (fifth overall in the conference) and ranks fourth in offensive rebounding (2.6 per contest) across the PacWest. He also added two assists and one steal for the week.
Robotham came off the bench against Cal Maritime to make an immediate impact. Upon entering, he knocked down a triple on the team's first possession and eventually scored 11 points on an efficient 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. Season-highs of 12 points, eight assists, and four steals then came for Robotham on Dec. 30 at Holy Names. The freshman guard was dealing in the first half and finished with six assists in that period alone. Making his first start of the year, Robotham helped the offense flow early by either scoring or assisting eight of the Knights' baskets in the opening half.
After posting averages of 11.5 points per game, 4.5 assists per contest, and 2.5 steals per game, Robotham was placed among PacWest leaders during the week. He led the conference in steals and ranked third in assists. For the season, Robotham is tied with two of his teammates (senior guard
Devin Williams and freshman forward William Overton, Jr.) for fourth in the PacWest in steals (1.2 per game). He also stands in seventh among assist leaders (2.9 per contest).
Davis captures his fourth PacWest Weekly Top 10 selection of this season, while Robotham takes home his first.
