They added to the small lead by posting two more runs in the bottom of the third, when Lokey scored on a RBI hit from Hanchey, and Clay hitting a solo home run, her second of the day. But the Penguins didn't let down easily.

They scored four runs of their own in the top of the fourth to tie things up. They were able to capitalize on Urban Knight errors, and came back into the game. The Knights regained the lead when they scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth, but again, Dominican answered right back and scored in the sixth to tie the game up at five. This forced the game into extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth inning, AAU's lead-off batter, Lokey, homered over the right-center fence to give her team the victory.
