The game began with both teams jockeying for position as Academy of Art got its fourth lead of the half on a fast break layup by junior forward Jonathan Burnett. From there, Chaminade went on a 13-2 run to give them a 29-16 halftime advantage and ended the period with three made 3-pointers.
AAU burst out of the halftime locker room with a quick 5-0 push that saw freshman guard Ivan Prema, Jr. nail a trey right away. This sequence cut the Silverswords' lead down to eight points, but CUH responded with a 10-1 surge. Prema, Jr. hit another long ball to make the score 48-33 in favor of Chaminade before the visitors took the 74-39 win.
