HOME GAMES VERSUS CUH, BYUH CONCLUDE KNIGHTS' SEASON:
With the final roadtrip of the season now complete, Academy of Art University men's basketball returns to San Francisco for games against Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii. AAU takes on the Silverswords this Tuesday at UCSF and wraps up with the Seasiders on Thursday at Kezar Pavilion.

OPENING TIP:
This Tuesday, Mar. 2, the Academy of Art University men's basketball team will play host to Chaminade University inside William J. Rutter Center on the campus of UCSF. Two days later, the Knights face off against BYU-Hawaii at Kezar Pavilion in the Senior Night season finale. Both contests are set to begin at 7:30 PM directly following the women's games. You can check out AAU's athletics page, Twitter, and CollegeFanz for live score updates!

KNIGHT SPOTLIGHT:
Junior forward Jonathan Burnett was selected to the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for the second consecutive week after achieving a pair of season-highs on AAU's final roadtrip. Burnett posted his first double-double of the year with 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench versus Dixie State on Feb. 27. In that same game, junior guard Phillip Samuel scored 17 points, his highest total since Jan. 7, by way of four 3-pointers which tied his career-high.

SCOUTING THE SILVERSWORDS:
After a tsunami warning canceled Chaminade University's game against Hawaii Pacific this past Saturday, the Silverswords now head to the Bay Area for meetings with Academy of Art, NDNU, and Dominican. CUH has lost its past five games including a tough 74-70 defeat at the hands of Hawaii Pacific. When the Urban Knights visited Chaminade back on Feb. 5, the Silverswords won 85-70 and forward Matt Cousins led with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Steven Bennett paces the team with 17.6 points and 5.3 assists per game. He had 15 points and nine assists in the win over Academy of Art.

SCOUTING THE SEASIDERS:
Much like Chaminade, BYU-Hawaii finishes off its 2009-10 campaign with a trip to the mainland. The Seasiders have turned up the heat since beginning the season 1-2 and have now won nine contests in a row. Last season's PacWest Player of the Year, forward Lucas Alves, had a breakout performance against the Knights back on Feb. 3 with 24 points and seven rebounds. BYU-Hawaii also returned its leading scorer, guard Tsung-Hsien (Jet) Chang, from injury on Feb. 12 versus Chaminade and he has maintained his 19.2 points per game since then. As a team, the Seasiders average the most points in the league (85.1) and a big reason is guard Anthony (AJ) Reilly who paces the PacWest in three-point field goal percentage (.500).

MEN'S BASKETBALL EDGED BY RED STORM, 88-77:
In the year's final road game for Academy of Art University, the Urban Knights poured in a season-high 77 points, but Dixie State took the win after making 23 free throws in the second half. A big dunk by sophomore forward Hunter Hayden put AAU up by four points early on and the Knights later grabbed a seven-point advantage on a long ball by Samuel. Dixie State responded with a 12-5 run in the final six minutes of the period, but Samuel came out on fire in the second half, scoring eight points with a pair of treys to tie things up 41-41. Unfortunately for Academy of Art, DSC used a 13-4 burst to gain separation and earn the victory. Samuel scored 17 points and matched his career-high of four 3-pointers made while Burnett put in season-highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
