Burnett and Davis Named To PacWest Weekly Top 10

PacWest Release

Phoenix, AZ – Senior forward Jonathan Burnett and junior forward Keith Davis have earned selections to the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for their stellar play in an 86-73 ART U victory over Bethany this past Saturday. Burnett scored a career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds while Davis put in 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Dec. 20, for games contested on Dec. 13-19.

Jon Burnett
The Urban Knights' lone contest this past week featured an unforgettable performance by Burnett. After starting the game with eight consecutive made shots, he would go on to set a new career-high with 21 points (finishing 9-for-11 from the floor). Burnett, who led the conference in field goal percentage for the week (81.8%), had previously held a high of 18 points which he posted against BYU-Hawaii on Mar. 4, 2010. Last season's leader in PacWest field goal percentage has once again found himself at the top of that statistical category. Burnett tops the list with a sparkling 61.4 percent figure.

In addition to his impressive scoring night, Burnett made it a double-double with his 10 rebounds. This marked his second consecutive double-double and the fourth of Burnett's career with Academy of Art University. Seven of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, as the Rock Island, IL native provided numerous crucial put-backs to lead ART U to victory over Bethany.

Keith Davis
Complementing Burnett's efforts, Davis finished with 17 points and eight rebounds on Saturday night. Davis spread around his scoring throughout the game and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. As the Bruins tried for a late push, Davis connected on a jumper with 6:11 remaining to keep Academy of Art ahead by double digits. The junior forward was also a major factor in distributing the basketball with a season-high four assists on the evening.

Davis now ranks seventh overall among PacWest leading scorers. The Long Beach, CA native is averaging 14.6 points per game and his 6.1 rebounds per contest are tied for seventh in the conference as well. Having made 8-of-17 shots from three-point range thus far, Davis is second in the PacWest in three-point field goal percentage (41.7%). In last week's contest, his lone triple came as part of a 6-0 run by ART U to start the game.

Burnett earns his first PacWest Weekly Top 10 selection of the year and the fourth in his career. It is the third PacWest honor for Davis this season.
