Overton, Jr. Enjoys Third Consecutive PacWest Weekly Honor

Phoenix, AZ – Representing Academy of Art University men's basketball for the third consecutive week, freshman forward William Overton, Jr. was selected for the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. Overton, Jr. averaged over 30 points per game to lead the conference in scoring for the second week in a row. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Dec. 13, for games contested on Dec. 6-12.

In two close games this past week, Overton, Jr. paced ART U in scoring on both occasions. The Perth Amboy, NJ native posted 32 points (shooting 10-for-22 from the floor) against Cal State Monterey Bay on Dec. 8. He then turned around and scored 29 points (including 5-of-12 from beyond the arc) with seven rebounds at Western Washington on Dec. 12. Overton, Jr. also contributed two blocks, two steals, and one assist over the pair of contests.

As the PacWest scoring leader for the week, Overton, Jr. averaged 30.5 points per game to go with 5.0 rebounds per game. He shot over 51.2 percent from the field (22-of-43), while ranking second in 3-pointers made per game (4.0). The freshman forward continues to pace the PacWest conference in scoring this season with a 23.7 points per game average.

Overton, Jr. earns the second PacWest Weekly Top 10 honor of his career as he garnered Player of the Week on last week's release.
