San Francisco, CA-- On Saturday afternoon, the Academy of Art University's Women's soccer team hosted BYU Hawaii at Boxer Stadium. The Urban Knights gave up an early lead as the Seasiders scored in the first ten minutes of the game. From there, BYU Hawaii had control of the game and didn't let up. The Urban Knights ended up losing the game with a final score of 0-5.

The Urban Knights' defense could not compete with the powerful offense of the Seasiders. After scoring a little over nine minutes into the game, the Seasiders scored one more goal in the half, and added to thier lead by posting three more goals in the second half. The BYU Hawaii offense had control for the majority of the game, keeping the Academy of Art University limited in their shots. The Seasiders outshot the Urban Knights 30-4.

Despite being down from the start of the game, the Urban Knights' goal keeper Solveig Barnes did well, trying to keep her team in the match. In 90 minutes of play, Barnes had 12 saves and allowed five goals.

Also doing well for the Urban Knights was freshman Jasmine Sharpe who had two of the four shots for her team during the game, including one shot on goal. Sophomore Olivia Dupon had one shot on goal and Miriam Tolentino had one shot on the day.

For the BYU Hawaii Seasiders Natashia Aiono had seven shots, inlcuding four shots on goal and one goal. Chloe Ence had five shots, four which were on goal and one goal for her team, and Margaret Sekona had five shots, including three shots on goal and one goal on the day. Natalie Cude and Sadie Simon each had one goal and Lauren McCullough had two assists in the match.

After the loss, the Academy of Art Unviersity's record falls to 0-5-2 in conference and 0-10-2 overall, while BYU Hawaii's record improves to 5-2 in conference and 7-2 overall. The Urban Knights play thier second to last home game on Monday, October 12th. They are set to host Chaminade University at Crocker-Amazon park at 11:00am.
