Patriot Invitational (Day 2 Results)
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf closed out the Patriot Invitational from the Poppy Hills Golf Club on Tuesday, carding a 10th place finish as a unit after the final round to maintain their position from the first day of action, concluding all three rounds with a 99-over-par 951.
The Urban Knights' best individual score came from sophomore Nicole Yang as she finished knocking on the door of the top 10, ending her tournament tied for 11th place overall out of 74 spots. Yang improved over the course of the three rounds by a stroke per run through, as her third-round 3-over-par 74 concluded her action with a 12-over-par 225 total. Freshman Chantel Tsai climbed 11 spots on day two as she finished with a 25-over-par 238, while senior Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn came in right behind with a 27-over-par 240. While graduate student
Jae Eun Park ended the tournament off with a 37-over-par 250, senior
Tessa Geenen kept close as well with a 41-over-par 254.
Ranked first in the country, Dallas Baptist continued to impress on the second day of the Patriot Invitational as the team finished with a 22-over-par 874, which is 26 strokes ahead of second-place Cal State San Marcos' 48-over-par 900. Julia Garcia of DBU once again shot the best score of the day individually, as her third-round 1-under-par 70 helped her finish with a 4-under-par 209, nine strokes ahead of second-place Julika Grosspietsch of Cal State East Bay.Â
