Yang Paces Second Place Knights At Sonoma State Invite

Sonoma State Fall Invitational (Day 1)

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. –
Just four strokes behind the lead team at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational, Academy of Art women's golf stands right behind as they shot a combined 17-over-par 305 as a unit to rank in second place by day one's end.

Pacing the Urban Knights is the eldest member of the squad that returned from last year in junior Nicole Yang, as she ranks tied for third place individually after she shot her own 3-over-par 75. One stroke back and tied for fifth place is freshman Jannel Calixterio, whose 4-over-par 76 is the best round of her young season. An additional swing behind with a 5-over-par 77 is freshman Isabella Christy and sophomore Chantel Tsai, as the duo currently shares eighth place with two others. Rounding out the squad is graduate student Mara Aumund, as she ranks in 14th with an 8-over-par 80.

Sonoma State is the squad that leads the tournament as they compete on their home course, while a duo of Seawolves lead the individual rankings as they each shot a 2-under-par 70.

ART U will be right back at it tomorrow morning as they'll compete in the final round of the Sonoma State Fall Invitational.
