2021 NCAA DII West Regional (First Round)
DENTON, Tex. – In a tournament full of the best competition across the West Coast, Academy of Art women's golf junior
Anahi Servin is tied for 15th place after she carded a 4-over-par 76 during the first round of the NCAA DII West Regional at Wildhorse Golf Club.
Moving on to play postseason golf after just
winning her third PacWest Championship last week, Servin opened her round with a bogey on the first hole, but would immediately drop a birdie to pull even. Finding her groove on the fourth hole, Servin would finish the front nine at 3-over-par, saving par on five of her last six holes. The back nine began similarly, as Servin would bogey the 11th hole before earning a birdieing on hole 12. After two more bogeys on 13 and 16 but only a birdie on 15, Servin would end her final nine holes at 1-over-par.
Among those that Servin is tied for are some familiar faces from the PacWest, as Tabetha Kang and Raquel Prado of Point Loma are tied for 16th at 4-over-par 76. Additionally, two more Sea Lions appear on the leaderboard at the West Regional, as Nicola Kaminski is tied for 22nd while Alli Kim is tied for 29th. From Dominican, Claire Shubin is tied for 41st.
In prime position to make a move in round two, Servin will tee off for her second round at the West Regional on Tuesday at 10:10 CST from the Wildhorse Golf Club.
