Two Knights In Top 5, ART U Tied For Fourth To Open PacWest

2021 PacWest Championship Results (Day 1) Anahi Servin

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii –
Two Urban Knights are square in the middle of the chase for the individual title at the PacWest Championships after round one from Waikoloa Beach Course, as junior Anahi Servin is tied for third while freshman Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn follows up in fifth place. Despite their efforts, Academy of Art women's golf currently sits fourth after combining for a 36-over-par 316.

Servin is looking for her third straight PacWest Championship victory after having won the last time the event was held in 2019 and prior to that in 2018. Thanks to 15 pars (the second-most on the day), Servin would card a 2-over-par 72 in a tie for third, just three shots off of overall leader Aubrey Corpuz from Holy Names (1-under-par 69). Hot on their trails is Rattanaprakarn, using three birdies to help her finish in fifth at 3-over-par 73, her lowest round of the season.

Just nine strokes separate ART U from second place Point Loma, while Dominican is the current leader after they combined for a 17-over-par 297. Rounding out the scoring for ART U was freshman Tessa Geenen in a tie for 24th after turning in a 14-over-par 84, while junior Iveta Posledni is in 26th place after shooting a 17-over-par 87.

Round two of the PacWest Championship will tee off tomorrow morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. HST.
