2021 Pioneer Shootout Results (Day 1)
ALAMEDA, Calif. – Returning for to the course for the second tournament in as many weeks, Academy of Art women's golf sits tied for second at 21-over-par 309 after the the first day of action at the Pioneer Shootout from Chuck Corica Golf Complex thanks to three Urban Knights currently in the top-10 on the leaderboard.
Junior
Anahi Servin is chasing another tournament victory after tying for first place last week, as her tournament-leading five birdies helped her card a 1-over-par 73 to top the Urban Knights and rank third overall in the tournament. Two spots back in a tie for fifth is freshman
Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn with a 5-over-par 77, as the freshman was successful at getting up-and-down by finishing her afternoon with 11 pars, tied for fifth most in the tournament. Rounding out the top-10 for the Urban Knights is freshman
Valeria Ruiz, currently tied for eighth at 6-over-par 78 after a pair of birdies and 10 pars.
Together the three helped the Urban Knights to a tie for second place with fellow Pacific West Conference member Biola, both sitting four shots back of Dominican in first place at 17-over-par 304. The Penguins are led by the current overall tournament leader Claire Shubin, the only player to shoot below par at 1-under-par 71, while Biola's Sami Penor turned in an even-par 72 to finish her day in second place.
Round two of the Pioneer Shootout will tee off tomorrow morning from Chuck Corica Golf Complex.
