KNIGHT WATCH
After a pair of season-opening victories it has been a pair of defeats for the Urban Knights, falling first to
Holy Names by a final of 1-0. The second came at the hands of the Sunbirds, and despite the second goal of the season from senior defender
Armando Rivera, ART U ran out of time in the comeback while
FPU took the victory, 2-1.Â
Thanks to his team-leading three goals on the season, senior forward
Adrian Cekala also leads the team in points with six, while just behind him with two goals of his own is Rivera. Five Urban Knights are tied for the team lead in minutes, including senior goalkeeper
Davis King, who thus far has recorded a 1.77 goals against average and .682 save percentage.Â
Â
RECORD CHASING
Cekala remains in seventh place inÂ
ART U history for career points with 24. Just ahead of Cekala in sixth place is Andrew "Boomer" Cruz (25; 2010-11) and a tie for fourth place at 28 points between Jonmundur Gretarsson (2011-13) and Patrick Heinemann (2010-13). Cekala also moves upÂ
the ART U career goals list, jumping from a tie for sixth place into a tie for fourth place with Cruz at 11 goals. Third place Frederik Nagel (2011-14) sits one goal ahead with 12, while second place Kristof Urbanyi (2012-15) checks in with 15.Â
Â
DEFENDING DOMINICAN
The Penguins won in their last time out on the pitch 2-1 over Holy Names, rebounding from a previous pair of losses to move Dominican's record to 1-2-0 on the season. Brian Sanchez has scored two of the team's' three goals this season, tallying both markers in the 2-1 win over HNU, now giving him the team lead in points with four. ART U leads the all-time series between the two teams, 9-7-1. Â
Â
HUNGRY AGAINST THE HAWKS
HNU is 1-1 on the season, having dropped a 2-1 decision to Dominican after defeating ART U 1-0 in their season opener. Pablo Ramirez has both of the Hawks' goals in 2020-21, pacing the team in most offensive categories. There will be one pit stop for Holy Names before meeting ART U, as the Hawks will face off against Fresno Pacific on Mon, Feb. 22. The all-time series matchup between HNU and ART U is tied, 4-4-2.Â
