Mustang Intercollegiate Day One Results
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- After a spectacular first round at the Mustang Intercollegiate, Academy of Art women's golf is tied for second with a team score of 296 (+8), four strokes behind first place Colorado State Pueblo.
ART U was led by sophomore
Anahi Servin who finished the day tied for the top spot with a 70 (-2). The sophomore out of Paraguay dominated the day, shooting five birdies and hitting par on 10-of-18 holes, but the most exciting moment came from freshman
Nattavadee "Baipor" Khunsri who sank a hole-in-one on the par-3 seventh. Khursi had an incredible start to the day, coming in at (-4) after the front nine, though she ended at 76 (+4) tied for 31st and fourth for ART U. Â
Coming in second for the Urban Knights were juniors
Elan Hawkins and
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo, who both finished round one tied for the 23rd spot with a score of 75 (+3). Kuo had a solid performance accounting for three of ART U's birdies while Hawkins made two.
The Urban Knights will look to maneuver themselves into the top spot at the Mustang Intercollegiate in the final round, tomorrow starting at 8 a.m. at Play Valley Golf Club.
