BOCO RATON, Fla. -- In the first of three matches of their Florida road trip, No. 11 Academy of Art women's tennis fell to No. 7 Lynn 6-1 Sunday at Lynn University Tennis Courts.
Taking the lone doubles victory for the Urban Knights was the pair of freshman
Sofia Ragona and junior
Mariacristina Andrisani. Ragona and Andrisani had a strong showing, taking down Ulyana Grib and Anastacia Parkinwere 6-1. The No. 1 ranked doubles team of seniors
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp fell 6-0 to Natalia Siedliska and Leolia Jeanjean, who are a perfect 11-0 this season. In the number two position seniors
Paula Alcantara and
Taisiia Andrieieva put up a tough fight but ultimately conceded to a 6-3 defeat.
In singles play it was Andrisani who took the victory, defeating Eliska Petrackova 7-6, 6-3, improving to 6-1 and bringing her win streak to four. Lynn went on to win the remainder of the singles matches and take the day 6-1.
ART U will continue their road trip when they face No. 12 Florida Southern at 3 p.m. EST in Lakeland, Florida.
