Otter Invitational Day One Results

SEASIDE, Calif. -- Academy of Art women's golf had another solid showing in the first round of the Otter Invitational in Seaside, California led by junior Elan Hawkins who found herself in first place by the end of the day. As a team the Urban Knights landed in the second with a cumulative a score of 315 (+27), two strokes behind tournament leader Dallas Baptist.
 
Hawkins shot a 76 (+4) for the best score of the day and will go into the final round in first place. Sophomores Iveta Posledni and Anahi Servin finished in a three way tie for the fifth position with a score of 78 (+6). Posledni captured an eagle on the par-4 14th and birdied on the par-5 18th. Junior Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo trailed just behind the sophomores, in a six-way tie for the 18th position after shooting one under on the eighth hole and finishing the day with an 83 (+11.)
 
The Urban Knights will look to solidify another top finish and conclude the Otter Invitational with their second round of play starting tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. at the Boyonet and Black Horse Golf Course.
