KNIGHT WATCH
Junior pitcher Galen Manhard secured his fourth  save on Feb. 23 to break the single season and career saves record for ART U in their 4-3 win over the Nighthawks. The junior southpaw is off to an exceptional start with a 2.84 earned run average, four saves, and 11 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Senior pitcher Mason Verhees had another quality start against NNU, throwing six innings while only giving up one earned run and three hits. Verhees leads the Knights in ERA with a miniscule 0.73 and is 2-0. Senior pitcher Gonzo Rios continues to be the go-to reliever out of the pen, with a 2.35 ERA and a team leading 18 strikeouts.

Junior outfielder Alex Golembiewski is coming off back to back multi-hit games. Golembiewski collected five hits, two runs batted in, and three runs in the Urban Knights series with the Nighthawks. Junior outfielder Thomas Delgadillo has maintained his astronomical .488 batting average over ART U's first 13 games and has the second highest batting average in the conference. Delgadillo has 20 hits, 10 runs batted in, and an OPS of 1.170.

POINT LOMA
In the PacWest preseason poll, the Sea Lions were picked to finish second in the conference and received two first place votes, while Point Loma's Micah Pries was selected as the PacWest Preseason Player of the Year. No. 17 Point Loma started the season with a three game series against Montevallo, winning both games of the doubleheader on day one, before taking a 16-2 loss the following day. Next, the Sea Lions took three of four games from No. 21 Cal State Monterey Bay. PLNU's first series loss came against UC Colorado Springs who defeated the Sea Lions two games out of three. Most recently PLNU took on Concordia in a non-conference series that they won three games to one, including a sweep of the doubleheader on the final day. Brett O'Toole is PLNU's leading hitter with a .366 batting average, but Micah Pries and Otto Kemp provide the production with a combined seven home runs and 18 runs batted in while hitting .348 and .340 respectively. PLNU is 19-5 all-time against the Urban Knights.
