Men's Soccer Falls to Chaminade

HONOLULU – In the first match of their Hawaiian road trip, sophomore midfielder Edvard Edvarsson tied the match at one in the first half, but Chamiande pulled away with a pair of goals in the second period for a 3-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Saint Louis Field.

Chaminade kicked off the scoring with a goal in the 27th minute from Reece Hambly, assisted by Quinton Brown. 13 minutes later ART U equalized when they drew a foul in the 'Swords' penalty box. Edvarsson took the penalty and buried it in the back of the net to tie the match at one. Edvarsson is now two-for-two on penalty kicks this season, and is tied for the team lead in goals with two, while his four points are second most for ART U. Neither team scored the remainder of the half and the Knights went into halftime tied at one.

20 minutes of scoreless play started the second half, but in the 67th minute the Silverswords once again found the back of the net. Tasman Turner claimed goal number two for CUH and it was assisted by Hambly. A final goal in the 88th minute, Hambly's second of the match, shut the door on the Urban Knights as the 'Swords went on to win 3-1.

Academy of Art will continue their island tour with a match against Hawaii Pacific on Nov. 11 with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. HT.
