SUNBIRDS ON SENIOR DAY

Coming off a 1-0 win against Saint Katherine in their most recent match, Academy of Art will look to carry momentum into their penultimate home match versus Fresno Pacific on Nov. 2. The match will also feature senior day, a rally towel giveaway, and a chance to win fabulous prizes! A short ceremony will be held prior to the game to honor and celebrate the seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program.

KICKOFF
ART U kicks off on Saturday, Nov. 2 against Fresno Pacific at 2:30 p.m on senior day. All fans in attendance will receive an ART U Athletics rally towel plus have a chance to win free Tacorea and other fabulous prizes. KNIGHT WATCH
Senior forward Andrew Deans is coming off his first goal of the season in the Urban Knights 1-0 victory against Saint Katherine. Sophomore midfielder Breki Einarsson received a pass on the far left side of the field, a couple yards outside the penalty box. Einarsson played in a nice ball that made its way past two Firebird defenders directory to Deans at the top of the goal box. Deans controlled the ball on his knee then volleyed in a left footed shot to the left corner of the net for a 1-0 ART U lead. Einarsson moved into a tie for first in points for ART U with the assist. His three points on one goal and one assist are tied with junior forward Adrian Cekala for most points. Sophomore goalkeeper Davis King recorded his second career shutout in the win. King also made a pair of crucial saves to bring his team high, season total to 31. 

FRESNO PACIFIC SUNBIRDS
Fresno Pacific comes into their match with ART U with an overall record of 4-9-1 and a conference record of 2-4-1. The Sunbirds are currently on a two-match losing streak, most recently falling to Notre Dame de Namur 4-0 and Point Loma 2-1 before that. Their first win in PacWest play came against Dominican, whom they defeated 2-1 on Oct. 9. They lost their next match 3-2 to Chaminade, tied Hawaii Pacific 0-0, and defeated UH Hilo 4-3 in overtime during their Hawaiin roadtrip. A non-conference schedule that consisted only of CCAA schools, save one match against UC Santa Cruz, saw the Sunbirds go 2-5. The pair of wins came against Sonoma State by a score of 3-2 and UC Santa Cruz on a 2-1 decision. With eleven points on four goals and three assists, Fellipe Souza is FPU's leading scorer. Anthony Torres leads the team in assists with five, which is the third most in the conference. The Sunbirds are undefeated in the all-time series against ART U with a record of 8-0, including a 4-3 win in their most recent meeting. 

DEANS LEADS ART U TO 1-0 TRIUMPH
Academy of Art emerged victorious against Saint Katherine on Tuesday morning at Paul Goode Field by a score of 1-0 behind senior forward Andrew Deans first goal of the season and a shutout performance by sophomore goalkeeper Davis King.

LOOKING AHEAD
After their final home match of the season, Academy of Art will make up a match with Dominican before traveling to Hawaii for a three-match island tour to take on Chaminade, Hawaii Pacific, and UH Hilo in that order.
