KNIGHTS OF KNOTE
Junior infielder Michael Maleski racked up three hits in Tuesday's win at Sonoma State, raising his batting average to .265 in the early-goings of the season. Sophomore right hander Mason Verhees looked strong in his first start of 2017 against the Seawolves, tossing 4.1 innings without allowing a run and surrendered just four hits while striking out four and walking the same. Overall, senior infielder Erick Luna leads ART U with a .304 batting average in 46 at-bats and has started all 13 games for the Urban Knights. Luna's four doubles are also tied for a team-high. In the slugging department, junior infielder Brennan Mauchline leads the team with two home runs, 10 runs batted in, and a .543 slugging percentage.

EAGLES SWEPT BY SAN MARCOS
Pitted against the CCAA's Cal State San Marcos, Concordia dropped all four contests. The series was closer than it looked however, as three of the four games were decided by just one run. The Eagles are now 3-7 heading into the weekend's series with the Urban Knights. Concordia has two players batting at or above .400 with Jair Donovan leading the team with a .438 batting average. Donovan also leads the Eagles with 19 total bases, 10 runs, and his five runs batted in are tied for a team-high.

LOOKING BACK: URBAN KNIGHTS TOP SONOMA STATE 5-3
Feb. 28 - Academy of Art baseball headed to Rohnert Park on Tuesday, looking to exact revenge on Sonoma State after falling to the Seawolves on February 14. Solid pitching and a five-run fifth helped the Urban Knights achieve their goal, defeating SSU 5-3.
