RIVERSIDE, Calif. – No. 14 Academy of Art women's golf returned to Eagle Glen Golf Club on Tuesday, looking to close out the 2017 CBU Invite with a strong final round. The Urban Knights scored 318 on the day (635 for the tournament) giving them a tie for 6th-place with Concordia (Ore.).

Junior
Sterling Hawkins took third place in her second-consecutive tournament after a 76-stroke final round. Her total score of 148 was just three strokes behind Marvi Monsalve from No. 10 California Baptist who took home the individual title.

"I was very happy to see Sterling competing again to be a medalist," said head coach
Elaine Harris. "I feel that her putting really helped her stay in contention."

Freshman
Elan Hawkins came in second for the ART U, tying for 30th with 158 strokes overall and 79 on Tuesday. Redshirt freshman
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo rounded out the Knights' top three competitors with ART U's second-best score in the final round (77). After two rounds, Kuo finished tied for 40th with 160 strokes.

"I believe that everyone has some things to work on," said Harris. "However, I look forward to getting home and preparing for our next event. "

The Urban Knights will now return to San Francisco where they will prepare for their next tournament on March 6 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.Â
