RIVERSIDE, Calif. – In the final road game of the season for Academy of Art men soccer, an evenly played first half was not enough against a strong, No. 4-ranked CBU team who ultimately took the match 3-0.
Â
In the first half, the Knights truly held their own against the undefeated Lancers. ART U had the first opportunity of the match when junior midfielder
Jonny Navarro missed a shot wide in the very first minute of the game. From there, the remainder of the period was evenly played with CBU outshooting the Knights by just three shots (8-5). An impressive outing by freshman goalkeeper
Kris Jensson contributed to this closely played half, as he made three critical saves while the Knights' back line denied another 4 shots. However, in the 40th-minute of the match, The Lancers were able to find the back of the net and headed into the half leading 1-0.
Â
The second half started quickly for the Lancers, when in the 49th-minute, they were able to add to their lead. They would go on to score once more in the 76th to make it 3-0. ART U added another 2 shots in the second half from sophomore forward
Zak Kiser and junior forward
Alexander Tombach, but each of their attempts were denied.

The Urban Knights will now return home for their final homestand of the season kicking off against Biola on Thursday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m.
