KNOTABLE KNIGHTS
Senior forward
Alex Walsh leads the team with two goals and four points this season, including his second goal in two games,
a game-winner against Dominican on September 23. However, junior midfielder
Bobby Gutierrez is tied for the team-lead in points (4) after scoring his
first goal of the season against UH Hilo in the team's 1-0 victory. Gutierrez also leads the team with a pair of assists this season.
Christian "Tate" Sprague also put his name on the map with his
first-career goal in the 58th-minute against Dixie State on October 12.
SUNBIRDS HOME FOR FOUR
After playing two of their last three matches on the road, Fresno Pacific is now in the midst of a four-game homestand. The Sunbirds are currently 3-4 in conference-play, but they have been heating up as of late, winning two of their last three matches. FPU is led offensively by Anthony Velarde with eight goals and six assists for a total of 22 points.
HAWKS ON HOLD
With the smoke from the North Bay fires affecting the entirety of the Bay Area, Holy Names has been forced to postpone their last three home events. As a result, HNU has not played in a game situation since October 9. Before then however, the Hawks put together a 2-7-1 overall and 2-2-1 PacWest record. Holy Names' top scorer is Carlos Vazquez-Perez who owns the third-most goals in the conference (10), while collecting 20 points thus far.
PREVIOUS MATCH: SPRAGUE SCORES, BUT ART U FALLS TO DIXIE
Oct. 12 - Entering the final 10 minutes of the second half, Academy of Art men's soccer looked to hunker down to protect a 1-0 lead that they had procured just 22 minutes before. However, out of sheer will, Dixie State managed to net two goals as the clock began to expire, handing ART U a heartbreaking, 2-1 defeat.
LOOKING AHEAD
After their two-game homestand, the Urban Knights will head down to Southern California where they will take on Azusa Pacific and No. 5 California Baptist.
