KNOTABLE KNIGHTSSenior infielder
Tyler Strawn batted .588 (10-for-17) against California Baptist who owns the PacWest's lowest earned run average. The senior went 7-for-9 with two runs batted in during the series'
first two games and 9-for-13 after
three. Strawn saw his batting average rise from .278 to a team-leading .320 over the weekend. Freshman right hander
Daniel Farfan was awarded his career-first PacWest weekly award after tossing a complete-game shutout against Hawaii Pacific. The win was the first of his career, but was his second-consecutive quality start, completing 9.0 innings and allowing just five hits in game three against Concordia in the previous series.
Â
SEA LIONS AT HOMEPoint Loma is currently 20-19 overall and 9-9 in the PacWest. The Sea Lions are also in the midst of an eight-game home stand in which they split a four-game series with Dixie State over the weekend. PLNU has enjoyed offensive success this season as eight of their position players are batting over.300. Ryan Garcia leads the conference with 44 runs batted in, is second in home runs (11), holds the seventh-highest on-base percentage (.455), and eight-best batting average (.374).
Â
ART U BESTED BY #7 LANCERS, DROPS TWIN BILLApril 2 -Â Junior
Alexander Kuisel took to the hill in game one of Saturday's double header, making his 10th start of the season. The left hander had a nearly perfect first two innings, striking out the first batter he faced and allowing just one hit.
Â
His groove was brought to a halt in the third however, as the leadoff batter advanced to third when Kuisel threw the ball away attempting to catch the runner. The Lancers would capitalize off of the opportunity and plate five runs altogether in the inning.
Â
LOOKING AHEADUpon their return from San Diego, the Urban Knights will prepare for a home weekend series with UH-Hilo which begins on April 22.
