BRING ON THE PACWEST
After taking one out of three from the Central Washington Wildcats, the Urban Knights will begin their PacWest portion of the season with a four-game series against Fresno Pacific. The following Tuesday, ART U will conclude a two-game series with Sonoma State split between February 16 and March 8.
 
FIRST PITCH
The first game against the Sunbirds is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 3. The following day, the two teams will face off in a 4:00 p.m./ 7:00 p.m. double header, with the series concluding on Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. first pitch. KNOTABLE KNIGHTS
Entering conference play, senior infielder Brett Adami leads the team with a .314 batting average and is tied with senior outfielder Greg Ivory for the team lead with a .375 on base percentage. Junior right-handed pitcher Cody Ball currently leads the team with a 1.96 earned run average after only allowing four earned runs in 18.1 innings pitched. During the Central Washington series, Ball made two appearances, tossed 4.2 innings without allowing a run and only surrendered one base hit.
 
SUNBIRDS IN A RUT
Fresno Pacific enters PacWest play with ART U 5-9 on the season, but is currently on a six-game skid. The Sunbirds have four players with a bating average over .300 thus far, with Davy Vartanian leading the way, hitting at a .378. clip. However, Scott Preston leads FPU with 10 runs batted in thus far and owns Fresno's sole home run.
 
SSU LOOKS TO GET EVEN
On February 16, the Urban Knights went to Rohnert Park and handed the Seawolves a 4-2 loss. Since then, Sonoma State has posted a 5-3 record and is 6-9 overall, 4-2 CCAA. Ryan O'Malley has been on fire for SSU, leading the team in almost every offensive category, including: batting average (.456), RBI (18), doubles (10), home runs (4), total bases (50), slugging percentage (.877), and on base percentage (.508).
 

BASEBALL SPLITS IN WALK-OFF FASHION
February 28 - It was a wild pair of games at Laney College, featuring plenty of offense for both Academy of Art and Central Washington.
 
GAME 1:
 
Similar to Friday night's game, the Urban Knights found themselves trailing 3-0 after the first inning. ART U would would score one of their own in the bottom of the inning and add three more in the second to take a 4-3 lead, but CWU scored three more in the top of the third to lead 6-4.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Urban Knights will not play again until March 13 when No. 9 Dixie State pays a visit to Laney Field for a four-game series with ART U.
