THE ROAD TRIP CONTINUESAfter playing a double header against Cal State East Bay last weekend, the Urban Knights will pack their bags and head for Chico State to play three games against the Wildcats before venturing south to play Sonoma State in Rohnert Park.

FIRST PITCHThe first game against Chico begins Friday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. The series finishes off with a double header the following day with start times of noon and 3:00 p.m. ART U's final game of the road trip against Sonoma State will commence at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 16th. KNOTABLE KNIGHTSDespite dropping the first three contests, there were several Knights that put up significant numbers. Senior centerfielder
Joseph Marchini leads the team with a .364 batting average after going 4-for-11 in the opening weekend. Senior second baseman
Cody Edmunds and senior infielder
Tyler Strawn also come into the series with the Wildcats averaging .300 or better, batting at .333 and .300 clips respectively. Edmunds was also on base the most frequently for ART U, posting a .556 on base percentage and nabbed the team's first steal of the season.

TAME THE WILDCATSChico enters the series with the Urban Knights 6-0 after handing three-game sweeps to both Menlo College and Point Loma over the previous week. Three Wildcats have been on a tear during their first six games, all batting .400 or better: Jerrett Maas (.400), Sonny Cortez (.417), Cody Bistline (.400). Clayton Gelfand has also pitched well, starting two games with 13.0 innings pitched, nine strikeouts, no earned runs and has only allowed seven hits and one walk.

SEAWOLVES AT HOME FOR SIXSonoma State has struggled in their first six games, posting a 1-5, 1-2 CCAA record. The Seawolves did however play an exhibition double header on February 3 against Cetys Universidad; the team won both games and outscored the Mosqueira 21-7. Ryan O'Malley leads the conference in three categories: home runs (three), doubles (five), and triples (1). O'Malley also owns a .545 batting average (12-for-22) in the season's early stages.
ART U BESTED BY EAST BAY IN DOUBLE HEADERFebruary 6 – After falling to Cal State East Bay in Friday night's home opener, ART U's series with the Pioneers moved to Hayward for a double header on Saturday.

Junior left-hander
Alexander Kuisel started the game for the Urban Knights and executed his pitches well during the first three innings, only allowing three hits. In the fourth, however, CSUEB was able to string a few hits together which set up a three-run home run from Michael Thomas, giving the Pioneers a 4-0 lead.
LOOKING AHEADAfter facing Sonoma State on Tuesday, ART U will split a three-game series with San Francisco State, featuring games at home on February 19 and 21.
