SIX-PART HOMESTAND BEGINS WITH SEAWOLVES, HAWKS

After winning three straight matches in Hawaii to rise to the upper tier in the Pacific West Conference standings, Academy of Art University returns home for its next six matches. The Urban Knights begin with their final non-conference contest hosting Sonoma State then jump back into conference play with Holy Names this weekend.

KICKOFF
ART U will play its first home match at Fairmont Field in Pacifica on Friday, Oct. 9, kicking off against Sonoma State at 1 p.m. Then on Sunday, Oct. 11, Academy of Art hosts Holy Names at Skyline College in San Bruno. Please note that due to connectivity issues, there will be no live video of the match against HNU. Live coverage will be available via the links above. A PACK OF SEAWOLVES
At 5-4-2 overall this season, Sonoma State was ranked No. 21 to start the year, but since fell out of the national spotlight with the start of California Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Seawolves dropped decisions to Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State Dominguez Hills (then ranked No. 23), and Cal State Monterey Bay, tied with SF State, and fell to Notre Dame de Namur 1-0 in non-conference action. With just seven matches left in its regular season, SSU's final non-conference match will be at ART U. The tandem of Brenton Frame (four goals, three assists) and TJ Perez (five goals, one assist) lead the Seawolves with 11 points apiece while Mitch North has handled virtually all of the goalkeeper duties with 12 goals allowed through 11 starts for a 1.06 goals against average with 47 saves, the most in by any keeper in the CCAA. SSU and ART U have met twice before with the Seawolves winning both.

HAWKS LANDING
Though Holy Names defeated William Jessup 2-1 to start the year, they proceeded to win just one of their next eight matches to produce a 2-7 overall record coming into this weekend. However, the lone victory was a 2-1 win over California Baptist highlighted by a goal from Toby Tomassi in the 87th minute. Most recently, the Hawks fell to Concordia, Dominican, and Dixie State each by one goal. HNU is led by two goals apiece from Ignacio Alvarez, Domonic Calderon, and Tomassi while goalie responsibilities have been in the hands of Kevin Gonzalez who has made nine starts with 47 saves. Academy of Art and Holy Names are even in two historical meetings including last year's 3-2 victory that featured a 50-yard goal by Urbanyi.

ART U FINISHES HAWAII ROADTRIP ON THREE-MATCH WINNING STREAK
Following a tough 5-0 loss to Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 26, Academy of Art made a significant shift and went on to triumph over BYU-Hawaii, Chaminade, and UH Hilo. Each contest followed a similar trajectory with a first-half goal by the Urban Knights, an equalizer by the opponent, and finally a game-winner that propelled ART U to a 2-1 victory.

LOOKING AHEAD
Academy of Art continues its PacWest Conference homestand with matches against Fresno Pacific (Oct. 14 at Fairmont Field) and Dixie State (Oct. 17 at CCSF).
