LEADING OFF
The Urban Knights continue to work towards getting their offense and defense on the same track in the same game, as they have had both sides of the ball show their strengths at different times during the year. The Knights are coming off a trip to Dixie that saw their team ERA drop but also their batting average go down, the opposite of what had happened in their previous series.

KNIGHTS ROLLING IT UP
The middle infield combo of Tino Leite and Lyle "Kalani" Brackenridge has been playing a big part in the Urban Knights leading the PacWest in double plays turned. The two slick fielders have turned 32 double plays this year, more than any other team in the conference. California Baptist has the next highest, with 29. Brackenridge has been part of 25 of those double plays, the second-most in the conference. They are also leading the conference in ground outs per game (10.41).

SUNBIRDS ROMP IN NON-CONFERENCE TUNE-UP
Fresno Pacific won four of five heading into the series with the Knights, all against non-conference opponents. They took two out of three from Cal State Los Angeles on the road before sweeping a doubleheader against La Sierra in convincing fashion, shutting them out 8-0 and 10-0. Kaohu Gaspar is leading the team at the plate, batting .389 so far, while Ryan Cheek is one of three pitchers with an ERA under 2.00 for the Sunbirds.

PERFECT TEN-DERSON FOR HENDERSON
Senior right-fielder Stefen Henderson moved to the outfield this year because of his speed, and has picked up right where former Urban Knight Johnathan Robbins left off as the team leader in steals. Henderson is a flawless 10-for-10 this year, which leads the team and the PacWest after the halfway point of the season. The ten steals amount for nearly half of the steals on the roster, and include multiple steals of third base as well.

ON DECK
After the home stand against FPU, the Urban Knights will stay in Oakland to host Point Loma Nazarene in a pair of doubleheaders on April 4-5. After that they will head to Hawaii to take on UH Hilo and Hawaii Pacific before ending the year at home.
