KNIGHT WATCH
Not far behind PacWest leader Fresno Pacific in goals and points, Academy of Art currently averages 2.0 goals and 5.47 points per game. Jonmundur Gretarsson, who recently set the ART U single-season points record (20) and tied the goals record (8), ranks seventh in the PacWest in goals (8) and eighth in assists (4). Pay attention to assists on goals Saturday as Aron Ekberg, Patrick Heinemann, and Andrew Durano are all in the mix to become the program's all-time career assists leader. Ekberg, who leads the team with five this season, is currently tied with Heinemann at 12 overall while Durano has 11 to date. After his game-winning goal in overtime at Hawaii Pacific, Jon "Jay" Eldon has moved into a three-way tie with Frederik Nagel and Jesus "Chava" Sanchez as each has four goals this season.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
In goal, Joshua Leader played more than 380 minutes on ART U's Hawaii roadtrip, offering four complete games en route to a PacWest Weekly Final 5 honor. Leader posted 16 saves in total with back-to-back shutouts of Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii highlighting the trip. Leader ranks second in the PacWest in goals against average (1.06) and fourth in save percentage (.756). Additionally, Luca Theis has 20 saves with seven goals allowed in seven starts and remains just one win from tying Ian Sutherland for the program's single season record of seven goalkeeper victories.

SUNBIRDS STAYING HOT
Coming off four consecutive victories which saw Fresno Pacific score at least three goals on each occasion, the Sunbirds remain in contention with Azusa Pacific and California Baptist atop the PacWest standings. FPU is 9-2 in conference play after starting with four straight wins in which they outscored their PacWest opponents 16-1. The Sunbirds were dealt their first conference loss in a 5-1 domination by Hawaii Pacific, bounced back to defeat Chaminade 8-1, but then fell to BYU-Hawaii 3-0. Since that loss on Oct. 19, Fresno Pacific has not lost, winning four in a row though not always by as large margins as before (wins over Azusa Pacific and Point Loma were both 3-2). Recently on Thursday, Nov. 7, FPU put away Holy Names 6-3 behind a pair of goals from one of the PacWest's top scorers in Jorge Chedraui. He has 12 goals on the season to go with two assists. Also among FPU's leading scorers are Gustavo Silva (eight goals including four game-winners) and Renato Bustamante (eight goals, five assists). In goal, Fabian Rangel has handled the majority of the minutes and starts. He offers 45 saves and 18 goals allowed in over 170 minutes and 14 starts between the pipes. In the first ever meeting of ART U and FPU last season, the Sunbirds came away with a 2-0 victory.

KNIGHTS GO 2-1-1 ON HAWAIIAN ISLANDS
The longest roadtrip of the season took Academy of Art Men's Soccer through each of the PacWest's Hawaii schools Oct. 26 – Nov. 2. Book-ended by wins, the Urban Knights saw a little bit of everything in their 10 days away from the Bay Area.

Starting at Chaminade, ART U rained down five goals in the second half, including a 4:04 hat trick by Jonmundur Gretarsson, leading them to a 6-0 victory. Academy of Art then went toe-to-toe with BYU-Hawaii for a complete 110 minutes with a 0-0 deadlock ending their emotional roller-coaster. UH Hilo then topped the Knights 1-0 in a match that saw Joshua Leader face one penalty kick in each half. Finally, a historic 2-1 overtime victory came at Hawaii Pacific where Jon "Jay" Eldon netted the game-winning goal. The victory was special for multiple reasons as it set the new program record and marked the first for Academy of Art over Hawaii Pacific in seven historical meetings.
