FIRST PITCH
The Urban Knights won their first contest of the year after their bats kept hot in Phoenix on a 1-3 road trip. Academy of Art has been getting runs around at opportune times, and has also been holding their own on the mound, just as Zach Mexicano did in his complete game win over the Lopes of Grand Canyon.

The Knights can be followed on Twitter and Live Stats for all four games in the series. You can also listen to audio for the first two games here

COMPLETE EFFORT
Mexicano went the distance for his first win of the season and his first nine-inning complete game victory. He earned a selection to the PacWest Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for his effort. The Knights also pounded out eight hits that game, and have averaged over seven hits a game in the past two series. ART U also fielded the ball well, turning a double play behind Mexicano and only committing one error, which led to a run but only one.

BECAUSE OF WIN-DIXIE
Dixie State took three out of four from Hawaii Hilo last week, and Mike Dedrick was named PacWest Pitcher of the Week for his efforts. Sam Friend, also of Dixie, was selected last week. They also had two batters on the Honor Roll, as Colton Yack (.424 season AVG) and Yuto Cata (5-for-10 with five runs last week) made the grade. The Red Storm sit in third place in the PacWest coming off their series victory over Hilo.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
In their win last week, the Urban Knights had eight hits. Five of those hits were doubles. Two of those doubles were by first-baseman Stefen Henderson. Henderson is now tied with Myles and Zach Babitt, who all have four doubles on the year. He's also heading up the charts in slugging percentage, now in fourth place on the team.

WHAT'S ON DECK
After the series with Dixie State, the Knights will finally return home after almost a month on the road to face off against Hawaii Hilo in Oakland on March 31. They'll also be home against Cal State Stanislaus, Grand Canyon, and Hawaii Pacific before heading on their final road trip of the year.
