PacWest Release
Phoenix, AZ -- For playing a huge role in the Urban Knights' nail-biting contest against Hawaii Pacific this past week, sophomore forward
Hannah Emmett has been named to this week's Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. Emmett recorded a three-point day by way of her assist and game-tying goal versus the Sea Warriors who currently top the PacWest standings. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 26 for matches contested on Sept. 19-25.
Before 20 minutes had ticked off the clock in ART U's match against Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday, Sept. 20, Emmett combined with senior forward
Megan Bucci to give the Knights an early 1-0 advantage. The Halifax, NS Canada native launched a pass from the corner of the box which Bucci then buried into the back goalpost. Though HPU rallied back to take a 2-1 lead, Emmett struck again in the 56th minute. She headed a corner kick from senior defender
Erica Wheeler-Dubin into the net, effectively tying the match 2-2.
Emmett would finish the day with a total of three points, a rare feat for any soccer player in a single match. She is among an elite group of just five Urban Knights who have ever posted three or more points in a match and is the second Knight to score three or more points multiple times in her career (she holds the all-time record with seven points at Bethany on Sept. 4, 2010).
This is the first career PacWest Weekly Top 10 selection for Emmett. She earned a PacWest Player of the Week honor in 2010.
