2010-11 Pacific West Academic All-Conference Team
San Francisco, CA – A total of 75 Academy of Art University student-athletes were named to the 2010-11 Pacific West Conference Academic All-Conference Team in an announcement by the conference media relations office on Tuesday, July 26. Based on performances in the classroom during this past academic school year, 740 athletes from the conference's nine member institutions earned the distinction.
For student-athletes to be chosen for the honor, they must meet a set of specific criteria. The requirement to be named to the Academic All-Conference Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student-athletes who are eligible to practice or compete with their respective teams are eligible to receive the honor.
The winners of the award represented each of the Academy of Art University's 11 sports which are sponsored by the PacWest Conference. The ART U softball team led all Urban Knight squads with 10 selections, followed by men's soccer and men's cross country each with nine, and women's volleyball as well as women's basketball each with eight.

The PacWest is now scheduled to choose a Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each of its 11 sports. Institutions have been presented with an opportunity to nominate one student-athlete from each of its athletic programs.
The winners will be announced in August with a PacWest Men's and Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year selected from the top votegetters in each sport.
