Soccer Threesome Earns Weekly PacWest Honors

PacWest Release

Phoenix, AZ --
After a week of program milestones, Academy of Art had three selections to the PacWest Weekly Top Ten Honor Roll. Megan Bucci, Hannah Emmett, and Margaret Thorolfsdottir all made the Honor Roll this week for multi-point effort as the Knights had wins against William Jessup (3-2 OT) and Chaminade (4-1). The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 3 for matches contested on Sept. 26- Oct. 1.

Bucci, a senior forward from Redondo Beach, CA, was the first Urban Knight to have at least three points in back-to-back games, accomplishing the feat with the game-winning goal and the assist against WIlliam Jessup on Sept. 29 and a goal and an assist against Chaminade on Oct. 1, also the game-winner. This is Bucci's first Honor Roll selection of 201, and second of her career.

Emmett, who earned the Top 10 selection last week for the Knights, had a three-point week, assisting on the game's second goal in the overtime win over William Jessup, and scoring the fourth goal in the 4-1 win over Chaminade. This marks Emmett's third PacWest selection, her second of 2011.

Thorolfsdottir is emerging as a top offensive weapon for the Urban Knights, matching Bucci with a six-point week, scoring the game's first goal against Chaminade and putting the Knights ahead twice against William Jessup at 1-0 and 2-1. Thorolfsdottir makes the Honor Roll for the second time this year, her first being back on Sept. 12 after her game-winner against Dominican (CA).
