Nieto's Top 10 Finish Guides Women's Golf to Sixth as a Team


Final Round Results

San Francisco, CA --- As a team the Academy of Art women's golf team maintained in the final round to finish both days in sixth place.

Western Washington and Western New Mexico tied for first, carding total team scores of 591. The low individual score for the tournament came from California Baptist's Adriana Niclotti who finished at three under par, 141.

Andrea Nieto is the top finisher for the Urban Knight women's team, finishing tied for ninth overall with a combined score 148, four over par.

Newcomer Sierra Sanchez shot the teams lowest round score on day two, 74. Sanchez 's 153, placed the freshman in a five way tie for 20th place. Sophomore Laura Huertas carded a 158 finish after improving her round one score by eight stokes shooting 75 in round two. Lyra Yoe finish the round at 158, shooting 79 on both days.

The fifth slot score was by Crystal Superal, who improved her first round score by one, carding a 79 on round two, for a score of 159.

ART U finished with a team score of 614, just nine strokes behind Sonoma State in fifth.

The women's return to the links on Oct 11. when they travel to Washington State to participate in the Western Washington Invitational
