San Francisco, CA – On Saturday afternoon, the Academy of Art University hosted Notre Dame de Namur University in the first conference match-up between the two teams. Fresh off their win just two days ago, the Knights were hoping to use that momentum as they headed into the game today. Defense was key for the Urban Knights as they shutout the Argos for the entire game. Unfortunately, ART U could not capitalize on any of their shots, and the game ended in a 0-0 tie after double overtime.

The Urban Knights came out attacking but the Argos's defense was doing their best to hold off the women. The game went back and forth for the majority of the time, as both teams struggled to get some offense going. It was a game that was fought mainly by defense as there were very little shots, especially on goal, in the game.

ART U managed to put up four shots, two which were on goal, while the Argos posted 13 shots, five of them on goal. The Knights' keeper, sophomore Hana Klimek, was put to the test as she battled through all 110 minutes of the match. After the long, double overtime game, neither team would allow a goal nor would they find the net with any of their attempts. With the game being tied after double overtime, the Knights had to settle for their second tie of the season.

Klimek stood out for the Urban Knights as she recorded five saves in the match, keeping her team in the game for all 110 minutes. Freshman Hannah Emmett had two shots including one shot on goal, and freshman Maya Tucker had one shot on goal in the game.

For the Argos, Sarah Biser led her team with two shots on goal, While Kimberly Wilhite and Tareena Oakley each had one shot on goal on the day. Goalie Carrie Turgeon played the entire match, posting two saves in the game.

After the tie, the Academy of Art University's record is at 2-8-2 overall and 1-8-1 in conference, while Notre Dame de Namur University's record is at 4-4-2 overall, and 2-2-2 in conference. The Knights will play UC Santa Cruz in their next match on October 16^th. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 pm in Santa Cruz, CA.
