Final Results
Seaside, CA--- The Academy of Art women's golf team carded a 308 during round two of the Otter Invitational. The Urban Knights as a team shaved an impressive 23 strokes off of their first round score (331) to finish the Invitational in a two way tie for 3
rd place.
Host Cal State Monterey Bay took first, finishing with a combined team score of 618 (317-301). Sonoma State bested their first round by 16 strokes to finish day two carding a 311, for a combined score of 638. Cal State Monterey Bay's Blue team finished tied for third with the Urban Knights, carding a 322-307--639.
Each Urban Knight golfer improved on their first round score during day two of the Lady Otter Invitational. Three athletes finished in the top 15 for ART U. Individually, Lyra Yoe once again topped the leaderboard, finishing in 5th place. Yoe finished with a 154 over 36 holes of golf (80-74). Crystal Superal finished tied for 11th. The sophomore dropped six strokes off her first round score of 82 to finish round two with a 76.
Laura Huertas finished tied for 14th overall, and registered the only eagle of the match. Huertas carded a 160 over the two rounds. She shot 84 on day one and a 76 on the final day of competition. Andrea Nieto shot an 85-82--167 over 36 holes. While Sierra Sanchez improved three spots at the end of competition, finishing 35th overall (92-85--177).
ART U women's golf heads to Hawaii for their next competition, where they will take part in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
