Stanford Invitational was a good test for the Knights

Palo Alto, CA-- The Urban Knights, who have been running exceptionally well as a team, faced their biggest competitors yet during the Stanford Invitational that took place this past weekend.

The Urban Knight men placed 10th out of 25 teams and beat many of the teams they faced earlier on, at their first meet, they also faired well against the other Pac West Team that competed.

The Knights could have placed as high as 6th but unfortunately one runner didn't finish the race, landing them at 10th overall. Coach Mike Spino takes each match as a learning experience and is very proud of the way his young team is performing, especially against these more experienced and veteran teams. "We learned a lot during the event especially about strategy for competitions" Coach Mike Spino added.

The women
did not finish a full team at the Stanford Invitational. The Lady Knights had one pre-event injury and two injuries during the competition. Coach Mike Spino is pleased with how the women are coming along and notes that good performances were recorded by Irineli Zamfir and Joyce Chepkirui.
