2022 PacWest Conference Championships Results
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. – Serving as hosts to this year's Pacific West Conference Championship races out at Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline, Academy of Art cross country had its teams each finish in the middle of the pack with All-PacWest Team honorees and personal records on both sides. The men claimed fifth with senior
Hudson Lockette among the top 15 while ART U's women finished sixth led by redshirt senior
Audrey Rosencrans in 13th overall.

Roughly one month removed from the fastest 8k time of his career, Lockette navigated wet and rainy course conditions well, steadily rising in the 71-runner field until he crossed the finish line in 15th with a 25:18.3 mark, the second-fastest 8k time of his career and good for his second career All-PacWest Third Team selection. Next to come through was graduate student
Sebastian Rivera Del Hierro who took 31st (30th among runners counting toward their respective team scores) at 26:03.0.
Continuing to drop his time with every meet thus far in 2022,
Vaughn Lacour was just over 10 seconds behind Rivera Del Hierro, claiming 35th place (34 toward the team score) by way of another new personal record of 26:14.8 which took 30 seconds off his previous best. Freshman
Conrad Heinemann made it four Urban Knights inside the race's top 40 as his 26:21.9 allowed him to take 39th (36 toward team score). A new personal record was also turned in by redshirt freshman
Jaden Singleton, who went 27:02.4 for 47th (38 toward team score) and was just one spot ahead of senior
Markus Anderson Deakin and his season-best of 27:04.4.
With 153 points, ART U finished fifth behind Concordia (115) and ahead of Dominican (173). Beginning an impressive day on both the men's and women's sides, Biola (41) won the team championship by a single point over Azusa Pacific (42) led by top finisher Benjamin White (24:22.9) as well as Jerry Baltzer (24:29.0) in third place.

In action one hour after the start of the men's race, Academy of Art's women's team featured its own All-PacWest Second Team selection with Rosencrans securing the fourth of her career after finishing the 6k in 13th at 22:00.9, just one second off her personal record set two weeks ago at NCAA DII Pre-Nationals. Sophomore
Michaela Andrews, however, did achieve a new personal best, going 22:47.1 to earn her 23rd overall (30th among runners counting toward their respective team scores). It was her second consecutive meet sporting a personal record.
The third and fourth Knights to finish both came through inside the 83-runner's upper tier as junior
Delanie Dykes' 23:25.6 mark put her 33rd (30 toward team score) and
María Martín's 23:35.2 had her 38th (35 toward team score). Sophomore
Lina Hanich closed out the ART U qualifiers in 44th (38 toward team score) with a time of 24:00.3.
Finishing sixth overall as a team, Academy of Art posted 136 points, one shy of fifth-place Point Loma (135), but well ahead of Hawaii Pacific (234) and Chaminade (257). The conference title went to Biola (36) after Lynette Ruiz (21:27.8) was named individual champion.
The postseason continues as NCAA Division II West Regionals are up next on Nov. 19 in Billings, Mont.
