Graduate student Joshua Thorson continued to have success in his debut season with Academy of Art University Cross Country this past week. Up against nearly 50 runners in a field comprised of NCAA Division I and DII talent at the Speedway Duals on Sept. 15, Thorson battled for the top position with the leader from DI St. Mary's and claimed second overall by a single step in the end.

Thorson would finish with a time of 22:41 on the 7.25k course, beating out the first place runner from SF State (ranked sixth in the West Region) and top finishers from both Santa Clara and Sacramento State. It was the second consecutive race that Thorson led ART U.
