Continuing a dominant outdoor season, Natalia Novak broke yet another record en route to two PacWest titles at the PacWest Conference Championships this past weekend. Named Most Outstanding Track Athlete for her efforts, Novak won both the 800m and 1500m in a span of less than two hours.
After qualifying through both prelims among the top four, Novak made big moves in the event finals beginning with a 4:39.69 in the 1500m that put her first by nearly four full seconds. Later in the 800m final, the Communications & Media Technologies major dropped more than four seconds off her previous personal record with a 2:09.57 good for first place and an Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifier. In addition to slotting into eighth in the nation in the event, Novak's time became the new Academy of Art record by nearly a full second.
When the dust settled, Novak was responsible for 20 points to contribute to her team's total.
