Academy of Art University Athletics

Graduate student Gatien Airiau once again dropped an Academy of Art track & field record in the 3000m Steeplechase out at Stanford's Cobb Track & Angell Field in the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 3.

In a race that featured NCAA Division II leader Kyle Medina of Chico State and numerous NCAA DI runners, Airiau major pushed for an 8:46.82 to better his own program record (set at this year's Stanford Invitational) by nearly three full seconds.

The Communications & Media Technologies currently ranks third in NCAA Division II in the 3000m Steeplechase and is one of just five automatic qualifiers thus far.
