Academy of Art University Athletics

Emerging from the first weekend of action in 2024 as the Pacific West Conference leader in batting average, Academy of Art softball junior utility Alexis Folks had hits and production in all four of the Urban Knights games versus Menlo.

The Communications & Media Technologies major made her ART U debut by going 2-for-3 with one run batted in and a run scored in the season-opener against the Oaks on Feb. 2. She then walked twice and otherwise went 1-for-1 with another run scored in game two of Opening Day. After moving to the top of the lineup as the series continued on Feb. 3, Folks started 1-for-3 in the Knights' 4-2 victory then closed out the day with her best game of the season thus far, ending 3-for-5 with two RBIs, a double, a stolen base, and one more run scored.

Leading an Academy of Art team that is first in the PacWest in batting average (.331), Folks finished the weekend hitting .583 (7-for-12) with a double, three runs batted in, three runs scored, and one stolen base.
