In front of the largest crowd in program history and on an evening when Academy of Art University Athletics celebrated its official entrance into the NCAA, senior forward Grimur Grimsson delivered a dramatic game-winning goal in the final minute.
This past Wednesday night at Kezar Stadium, with 10 minutes left, Grimsson substitued into what was a 1-1 dogfight between the Urban Knights and San Francisco State. As the possibility of overtime came closer and closer, it was freshman midfielder Sebastian Zuniga who launched a ball from the wing which Grimsson promptly nailed with 38 seconds left for what would become a 2-1 ART U victory.
“It was a team effort and everybody was working hard,” Grimsson, a humble native of Seltjarnarnes, Iceland, said. “The team has been really working hard for three to four weeks and now it's coming… wins.”
