2009: Competed in two singles matches and finished with a 0-2 record ... teamed with Cecilia Hedin to play all but one of her 10 doubles matches and ended with a 0-10 record overall ... despite the losses, Barnes and Hedin pushed pairings from Dominican and Grand Canyon to 9-8 tiebreakers.

Career: Barnes played soccer for the Urban Knights during the fall season ... played four years of soccer and three years of football at West High School ... averaged 13.5 goals per year on the soccer team ... voted West's Female Athlete of the Year ... earned All-League honors her junior and senior years ... also voted team captain ... as a kicker on the football team, completed 22 of 23 point after attempts ... was a Second Team All-League selection ... top field goal kicker in the Tri-City Athletic League in 2007-08 ... was the first woman to play varsity football in school history.

Personal: Solveig Barnes was born in Napa, Calif. ... parents are Fred and Lisa Barnes ... enjoys traveling, snowboarding, swimming, wakeboarding, fishing, and going to the beach ... lists playing soccer in Europe over the summer and making it to the championship round as one of her biggest athletic thrills ... is currently teaching herself Swedish ... hopes to become an Interior Designer ...
