Dave Allen

Dave Allen was born and raised in the Bay Area (Kentfield, CA). He graduated from UC Davis where he led the school to win its first NCAA National Championship in 1992. Allen was a four-time All-American in both singles and doubles. He captured multiple titles throughout his four years at Davis. In 1991 and 1992, Allen was a semi-finalist in the NCAA singles championship and finished that year #1 in the country. Additionally in 1992, he captured the NCAA doubles title as well as the National Rolex indoor championships and was honored by the UC Davis as its "Athlete of the Year."

After graduating, Allen joined the ATP professional tennis tour and competed internationally in twenty different countries, achieving world rankings in both singles and doubles. Allen’s career on the professional circuit spans over seven years, and he has coached in the SF Bay Area for over 15 years. He has spent the last nine years building junior programs and high performance programs at both the Tiburon Peninsula Club (Junior Tennis Coordinator) and most recently at Belvedere Tennis Club (Head Tennis Professional).

Allen’s coaching philosophy is very simple and straight forward, “Setting realistic goals combined with hard work produces success.”

Allen is an extremely enthusiastic individual with a passion for tennis and coaching. He is honored to have the chance to build a tennis program at Academy of Art University.
