Kris Jensson began as a volunteer for Academy of Art men’s soccer in August 2023.
In his first year as a part of the ART U coaching staff, the squad saw improvement as the team rose three slots in the Pacific West Conference standings. Jensson helped coach Gilly Miller and watched him finish off his impressive ART U career, and the talented freshman in Joey Glaab stepped up this year and exceeded expectations. The pair received All-PacWest Second Team honors for their strong efforts, as the duo co-led the squad in points on the year (12). Jensson also helped Miller additionally become the seventh Urban Knight all time to be named the
PacWest Player of the Week for Academy of Art men's soccer and the first since
2015. Helping lead the team off the field as well, Jensson saw seven members of the squad earn
2023-24 Academic All-PacWest Team honors.
For the past three years, he has been working as a product designer for a digital product and innovation agency in San Francisco.
A three-time Academic All-PacWest honoree and once the PacWest Defender of the Week in his four-year career with Academy of Art, Jensson’s name appears on all ART U goalkeeper career records, including the highest saves per game average (4.32), third-highest total saves (164) and goals against average (1.92), and fourth-highest save percentage (.701), wins (6), and shutouts (4). He tied the program record with 11 saves versus Cal State Monterey Bay in 2019.
Off the soccer pitch, Jensson earned his department’s Spring Show Finalist in 2019, the Spring Show Silver Award in 2020, and the Spring Show Best in Show Award in 2021. Kris also earned the Audi Scholarship Award in 2020, and Nasa Scholarship Award in 2021.
Jensson earned his bachelor's degree in UX/UI Interaction Design from the Academy of Art in 2021.
