Evelyn Ross

    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Evelyn Ross begins her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Academy of Art University cross country and track & field teams.

Most recently, Ross served as an assistant track coach for Occidental College in Los Angeles, working with the Tigers' 80-person track team. While pursuing her Master's Degree in Public Health, Community, and Behavioral Health at the University of Iowa, Ross also worked as a teaching assistant and co-founded The Women's Wellness Initiative, a program to promote the physical, mental wellness, and social support for a group of Sudanese immigrant women.

Prior to joining Occidental, Ross was an assistant for the University of Iowa cross country and track & field teams for the 2009-2011 seasons.

Ross earned her Master's Degree in Public Health, Community, and Behavioral Health in 2012. She graduated from Scripps College in 2009, where she competed four years on both the cross country and track teams. While running for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, she was a a six-time NCAA qualifier, two-time All American in the 3000m Steeple Chase, and four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in addition to holding a position as co-chair.

Ross, who currently holds the SCIAC record in the steeple chase (10:30.59), also earned SCIAC Athlete of the Year (2008-2009), Scripps Alumnae Association Athlete of the Year (2008-2009), and Scripps College Athlete of the Year (2007-2008) among other honors.

Ross currently resides in Saratoga, CA.
